About the Project
A 73,000 square-foot police training facility to meet the growing needs of the East Gwillimbury community. The state-of-the-art education facility accommodates a full-size firing range, fitness and defensive tactics training centre, and various learning spaces. Dedicated storage space for training equipment, a skid pad for vehicle training, and a loading and receiving bays for materials add to the centre’s multi-functional capacities.
The LEED Silver-certified facility achieves outstanding sustainable design and construction through such electrical components as LED lighting and control systems, occupancy sensors, and charging stations for electric vehicles. Further noteworthy features include 44KV substation, an emergency generator, a high-voltage duct bank and underfloor raceway, plus advanced IT, security, telecommunication and surveillance systems.
